Nepalis are jumping from roof to roof to escape the flood

Nepal is a South Asian country affected by severe floods and landslides. Locals are saving their lives by jumping from one roof to another as the flood water rises. In a report on Sunday (September 30), the British media BBC News reported this information.

According to the report, 148 people died in floods and landslides caused by heavy rains for two consecutive days. 62 people are still missing. Students and parents are in trouble as university and school buildings in the country have been damaged due to rain. In such a situation, the country's authorities have announced the closure of schools for the next three days.

Meanwhile, around 322.2 mm of rain fell in some parts of the capital Kathmandu. As a result, Baghmati river water is flowing 2.2 mm above the tidal limit.

At least 2 thousand citizens have been rescued so far. Authorities fear the death toll may rise. More than half a hundred are still missing in the flood waters. An all-out rescue operation is underway.
