Metrorail will also run on Fridays from September 20. Since its inception, Metrorail has been running 6 days a week. But now the residents of the capital will get metro service even on Fridays.
The matter was informed on Wednesday (September 18) in an office order signed by Khondkar Ehteshamul Kabir, the company secretary of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the company that operates Metrorail.
According to the office order, metro trains of MRT Line-6 operated and maintained under DMTCL will run every Friday from Uttara North to Motijheel from 3:30 pm to 9 pm and from Motijheel to Uttara North from 3:50 pm to 9 pm every Friday from September 20. A decision has been taken to move on the scheduled headway up to 40 minutes.
In this context, the concerned parties are requested to take necessary measures to run the metro rail every Friday from September 20 as per the above time.
