Six foreigners have been arrested on charges of plotting to assassinate Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. Sunday (September 15) in a report, the British media The Guardian reported this information.
According to the report, among those arrested, three are Americans, two are Spanish and one is a citizen of the Czech Republic. Local time on Saturday, the Minister of the Interior of Venezuela announced this information on the country's state television.
He alleged that these foreigners came to the country with the intention of killing the top leaders of the Venezuelan government, including Maduro, as part of a conspiracy by the US intelligence agency CIA.
However, the US State Department has denied CIA involvement in the alleged assassination plot against Nicolas Maduro.
It should be noted that the West accused Nicolas Maduro of massive irregularities in the last elections in Venezuela. Two days ago, the United States imposed sanctions on 16 close associates of the president.
